An Architect’s Perspective
Singular Lighting was founded by Architect and Lighting Designer Germán González Garrido.
His background in architecture led to a simple conviction: lighting should never compete with architecture—it should quietly become part of it.
Rather than approaching each luminaire as an isolated object, every collection begins by understanding how people inhabit a space. From there, light, materials and acoustic performance are developed together to create environments that feel balanced, comfortable and timeless.
Today, Germán continues to lead the creative direction of Singular Lighting, ensuring that every collection reflects the same architectural vision from the first sketch to the final product.
Designing Around Experience
Every project starts long before the first sketch. Rather than asking how a luminaire should look, we begin by asking how a space should feel. The desired atmosphere, the activities it will support and the relationship between people and architecture define every decision that follows.
Only when these questions have been answered do we begin to develop the product itself.
Light, Material and Acoustics
Light is only one part of the experience. The materials surrounding it influence how a space sounds, feels and ages over time. For this reason, optics, acoustic performance and material selection are considered together from the earliest stages of every project.
Wood brings warmth and authenticity. Recycled PET improves acoustic comfort while giving a second life to discarded plastic bottles. Precision-engineered aluminium ensures durability and long-term performance.
Every material is chosen not only for its appearance, but for the contribution it makes to the overall experience of a space.
Crafted in Spain
Every Singular Lighting luminaire is designed and manufactured in Barcelona and Madrid in collaboration with local manufacturers and skilled artisans.
Working closely with our production partners allows us to oversee every stage of the process, from prototyping to final assembly, ensuring consistency, quality and long-term reliability.
By keeping production local, we reduce transport, encourage craftsmanship and maintain direct control over every detail.
